Today, National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) held a press briefing to introduce the electricity transmission and distribution price reform. Director of Price Division of NDRC Shi Zihai said recently NDRC issued "Notice on the matters relating to expanding the pilot scope for electricity transmission and distribution price reform" (hereinafter referred to as "Notice"), to further broaden the coverage of the pilot reform in electricity transmission and distribution price.
According to the introduction by Shi Zihai, the “Notice” issued by NDRC recently expands the pilot coverage for the electricity transmission and distribution price reform, stating clearly that in 2016, 12 provincial grids- Beijing, Tianjin, Southern Hebei, Northern Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Jiangxi, Hunan, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guangdong and Guangxi- and the power grids of the comprehensive pilot provinces involved in the country’s electricity system reform as well as the power grids in North China have been included into the pilot program of electricity transmission and distribution price reform.
He also said that since 2014 when the pilot reform in electricity transformation and distribution price firstly started in Shenzhen, China has gradually expanded the pilot coverage, with 6 provincial power grids - Western Inner Mongolia, Anhui, Hubei, Ningxia, Yunnan and Guizhou- carrying out the pilot reform in advance in 2015. This time, the expansion of the pilot scope will cover the country's 18 provincial power grids and a regional power grid, marking a full acceleration in the electricity transmission and distribution price reform.
